We're getting ready for summer!!! Here are the schedule of camps and application/registration form.

  • Earth, Wind and Fire

    Week #1 June 14 - 18
    Ages: 7 & up
    Teacher: Michael Lee

    Have fun learning about the science of nature in our garden and outdoor labs. Children will explore gardening, harvesting and even get to cook some of the harvest. We will also do some climate studies and make kites.  CLOSED

     

  • Bring Stories to Life

    Week #2 June 21 – 25
    Ages: 5 & up
    Teachers: Olive Hackett-Shaughnessy

    Join our Master Storyteller, Olive! She will tell plenty of stories which the class will translate into dramatic performance. Children will design sets, props and costumes with a wealth of materials.

  • Art in the Field

    Week #2 June 21 – 25
    Ages: 8 & up
    Teacher: Fred Ramos

    Drawing journals and museum field trips combine to make this a lively week. Drawing techniques will focus on the child’s point of view to give the student confidence to create. We will design personal journals and visit the de Young and MOMA.

  • Amazing Constructions

    Week #3 June 28 – July 2
    Ages: 5 & up     
    Teacher: Athena Lafferty


    Become an architect and engineer as you design and create small models and big structures. This hands–on class will have you building domes, bridges, skyscrapers and creative contraptions!

  • Writing with Nature

    Week #3 June 28 – July 2
    Ages 8 & up
    Teacher: Olive Hackett-Shaughnessy


    Join our Master Storyteller, Olive. We will observe nature with a journal and many stories from around the world to help us appreciate nature. Olive will show you a new way of observing environments through the world of storytelling.

  • Let’s Get Cooking

    Week #4 July 5 - 9
    Ages: 5 & up

    Teacher:  Sharon Collins
    Material fee $20


    We will be whipping up some delicious treats for your tasting delight. Children will prepare a breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. We will shake, bake, scramble and roll! Come join us for some cooking fun. This is a great class to start the joy of cooking.

  • Visual Arts Workshop

    Week #5 July 12 - 16
    Ages: 5 & 7
    Teacher: Lisa Mariea Hubbard

    Work out in the field or in our studio with Mrs. Hubbard, Artist in Residence @ Lakeshore School and The De Young Museum. Students will have the opportunity to explore quality artists’ materials such as charcoal, oil pastels, and acrylics to build a portfolio.

  • What’s cooking?

    Week #5 July 12 - 16
    Ages: 8 & up     
    Teacher: Sharon Collins

    Material fee $20


    Come and work with Sharon, our “pieologist”. We will make sweet and savory pies. We will mix, taste and test in our kitchen while compiling a great notebook of recipes. Children will be preparing plenty of goodies to go home (if they last that long).   

  • Science Blooms in the Garden

    Week #6 July 19 - 23
    Ages 5 & up
    Teacher: Jean Moshofsky Butler


    Let’s get our hands dirty looking for bugs, planting, and mulching. Jean will take the students on flower hunts and bird watching walks. We will use microscopes for plant dissection, wheel barrows for hauling and hoses for lots of watering. Smell that fresh air!

  • Fabric Design

    Week #6 July 19 - 23
    Ages: 9 & up
    Teacher:  Sharon Collins

    Material fee: $20


    Join us while we study patterns and design our own fabrics. Students will learn techniques to stamp, paint, dye and print on silks and cottons. Watch out “Project Runway”!

  • Cooking with Secret Ingredients

    Week #7 July 26 – 30
    Ages: 8 & up
    Teacher: Anita Wu and Julia Egan-Bell
    Material fee: $20


    A seasonal secret ingredient will be selected each day for students to prepare in a variety of ways. Students will create their own recipe books and on Friday the class will show off their talents in an Iron Chef competition! Join our experienced chefs.

  • Junior Camp

    Week #8 August 9 - 13
    Ages Incoming K & up

    Teachers: Sharon Collins and EMI Staff


    Our staff will provide a variety of camp arts and crafts while we cook and sing! This camp is for the younger camper. We also encourage new “kinders” to camp as a way to acclimate children and parents to the Lakeshore School Community. We will be working in small groups with plenty of care.
